A community for all ages, says Persona Homes’ Lee Coan, as we get to know the team behind Harrogate’s exciting new development, Watling Grange

What is most important to you when you are looking to buy a home?
For me it is the layout of the property, having open useable spaces.
What is your favourite feature of the new homes at Watling Grange?
I love the light and airy feel of the houses at Watling Grange. The open plan layout and vaulted ceilings are definitely a hit with me.
You work closely within the community in and around Harrogate. What’s something interesting to do in the town that you’d recommend to new residents?
This one is probably not a surprise, but everyone should take a visit to the iconic Betty’s Tea Room. If you are looking for something out of Harrogate there are many beautiful places to see in Nidderdale, it’s an area of outstanding beauty and you will not be disappointed if you take a day out there.
In your opinion, what makes these homes different to other developments in the area?
First and foremost, our homes look different from what other developers are building, with their open plan layouts, vaulted ceilings, and beautiful feature windows. The Elstow is one of my favourite house designs.
What kind of people would you recommend the Watling Grange development to?
I would recommend Watling Grange to everyone. Whether you are a younger first time buyer, upsizing, or downsizing, the development is set to be a community for all ages. The feel of the development with its luscious meadows will surely capture anyone’s imagination on an afternoon stroll.
How long have you been with Persona Homes? What has your experience with the business been like?
I joined the company in November 2020. The company operates in a completely different way to other developers, and there is a real sense of caring for employees and customers, and our new Personify product captures this completely.
Persona Homes is owned by Home Group, with profits reinvested into the business. How important is this as a motivation for your work?
This is a great motivator, not just for myself but colleagues too, knowing that the work we do at Persona Homes is creating revenue to provide the social housing that we so desperately need.
What excites you the most about the next steps of the Watling Grange development?
We are currently brainstorming ideas on how to develop the northern phase of the site. It’s a fantastic opportunity to be able to get involved with the design and layout of both the development and properties.
I’m looking forward to seeing the large section of meadowlands being developed. There will be an amazing seating area on the northern phase on the edge of the dramatic rockface overlooking the skyline of Harrogate. Where else would you want to be on a beautiful summer evening?
